What’s new for MailCharts in September? Plenty.

If visions of sugar plums are starting to dance in your head (and you’re eager for some festive campaign inspiration), you’ll be glad to know we’ve refreshed three of our most important curated holiday email lists:

All-new, cart abandoner, purchaser & lifecycle journeys

Email Journeys, of course, are what we call a sequence of emails triggered by a behavior like signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase or (egad!) abandoning a cart.

In September we added another 1,000 or so journeys to our database. Some were for brands new to MailCharts, such as:

Others were refreshed journeys for well-known brands like:

Still more were new or repeat purchaser journeys from:

Plus here’s a sampling of lifecycle journeys that churned last month:

Brands with year after year of great data

When you dip into years of a brand’s email data and you can suddenly see how its promotional trends, design preferences and copy styles change from month to month and year to year. Since 2013 we’ve been signing up for, organizing, archiving and processing emails and email journeys for hundreds of brands, revealing how their email marketing habits and tendencies evolve over time.

With that in mind you can now check out 4 full years of emails from:

And 3 full years of emails from:

Classifying the entire subscriber lifecycle: an update

Back in August we promised we’d start classifying emails to flag the many distinct stages of the subscriber lifecycle—from onboarding to cancellation to winback.

For September we’ve thoroughly classified cart abandon and cancellation emails.

To tap into these targeted messages use our advanced search tool’s Classifications filter (see below) to call up emails for virtually any subscription stage:

Plus plenty of new curated email examples

Marketers in a hurry may not want to spend time conducting even the most advanced searches. That’s why in September we refreshed hand-curated lists to spark your creativity in a jiffy. Check out:

Emails our team loved

As email nerds we’re suckers for emails that make imaginative use of animated gifs, unconventional subject lines, discount tie-ins and more. In September these landed in our inbox and tickled our fancy:

What to expect in October

More Purchases. We’ve especially got our eye on purchasing from Activewear brands like Under Armour, Sweaty Betty, Lululemon and Alo Yoga.

Cart abandonment. Your Q4 marketing initiatives will generate tons of traffic from eager holiday shoppers. Alas, many of them will suffer an attack of purchase interruptus. Consult our curated cart abandonment list for ideas on bringing them back to finish what they started.

Curated Gift guides. It’s the right time of year to update our curated Gift guides … and we thought we’d do the same for Webinar and the all-important-but-often-neglected Terms of service update.
