Nestle swallows Blue Bottle
Blue
Bottle Coffee, the venture-backed purveyor of highly caffeinated
gourmet beverages and beans, is selling a majority
stake to Nestle. Terms weren’t disclosed, but the deal
reportedly values Oakland-based Blue Bottle at close to $700 million, with
Nestle paying about $425 million for a 68% stake.
Google eyes $1B Lyft stake
Google has held talks to invest around $1
billion in Lyft,
according to sources, Axios reports.
If it comes to fruition, such a deal would be a remarkable move given that
Google was an early backer of rival Uber,
with which it is now embroiled in trade secret theft litigation.
